#451 Postcard from Penang, Malaysia
Last but not least, the fourth Penang postcard from SL Liew.
This one shows the statue of Captain Francis Light who founded Penang as a British Settlement on 11 August 1786. This statue is located in the compund of Penang State Museum and Art Gallery in Georgetown, Penang.
On the back, Liew affixed one stamp that commemorates the visit by The Duke and Duchess of Cambrige to Malaysia on the occasion of the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II. Two special cancels of the issue were applied on the postcard, plus one special cancel from the Malaysian Festivals 2nd series issue. It seems to me that Liew really know how to match stamps and postcards, since the Diamond Jubilee cancels, the royal visit stamp and the Francis Light postcard all are related to Great Britain. Thank you very much SL Liew for all these nice postcards, stamps and cancels!
