#463 Cover from Australia

A cover from Australia, sent by postcrosser Irene Magale from Victoria for Nice Cover Circuit in postcrossing forum.

On the cover, Irene affixed two pairs of setenant stamps that show wild animals in Australian zoos. No postmark date or location available. Thank you Irene!

#462 Postcard from Smiths Falls, Ontario

Another postcard that I sent to myself while visiting the beautiful town of Smiths Falls, Ontario, few weeks ago!

This one shows all the museums in Lanark County. Altogether there are 11 museums in Lanark Country, and three of them are located in Smiths Falls. They are the Railway Museum, Rideau Canal Museum and Heritage House Museum.

I visited all three museums during my trip there. The Railway Museum of Eastern Ontario was superb since I have never been to a railway museum before. Originally it was one of the two railway stations in Smiths Falls. There are many coaches that visitors can enter: including one snow plower and a mobile dental clinic! I think the dental clinic coach is the coolest!

#461 Cancels from Stanbridge East, Quebec

A cover with cancels from Stanbridge East Post Office, Quebec.

Stanbridge East is home to the historic Cornell Mill. I used one permanent stamp that features a picture of Cornell Mill and two low value beneficial insect stamps on the cover. The postmark date is 15 October 2012. Thank you Postmaster!

#460 Cancel from Middleton, Nova Scotia

A cover with cancel from Middleton Post Office, Nova Scotia.

On the cover, I used the community foundation stamp that has a heart image to match the red and heart designed cancel of Middleton Post Office. The postmark date is 12 October 2012. Thank you Postmaster!

#459 Cancels from Delta, Ontario

Another cover with cancel from Ontario, this one is from Delta Post Office.

Delta is home to the Old Stone Mill, a National Heritage Site. I used one permanent stamp that depicts the mill to match the beautiful cancel that shows the same building. The building is already more than 200 years. The postmark date is 12 October 2012. Thanks a lot Postmaster, Delta Post Office!

#458 Cancel from Tecumseh, Ontario

A cover with cancel from Tecumseh Post Office, Ontario.

On this cover, I used the setenant stamps issued to commemorate the bicentennial of the War of 1812, where one of the stamps feature a picture of Tecumseh, chief of the Indian confederacy who allied with the British in Canada against the Americans in the war. The other person portrayed in the stamp Sir Isaac Brock, the British Army officer.  The setenant stamps match the cancel from Tecumseh Post Office. The postmark date is 11 October 2012.

#457 Postcard from Ottawa, Ontario

Monday 8 October 2012 was a public holiday in Canada since it was Thanksgiving. On that morning, Aiman and I went to Rockcliffe to enjoy the beautiful fall scenery. As we passed by the old Rockcliffe Airport, Aiman wanted to stop at Canada  Aviation and Space Museum. At the museum, both of us took the biplane ride tour around Ottawa! The view of the city from the sky was fantastic as fall season was at its peak! Before going home, I brought some postcards and decided to send one home. Today the postcard arrived!

The front of the postcard shows the painting of Silver Dart by Robert W. Bradford, the first controlled powered flight in Canada.

At the back, I used a permanent stamp that depicts the monarch of Canada, Queen Elizabeth II. The cancel is from Ottawa Post Office, and the postmark date is 16 October 2012. Thank you Postmaster!
