#684 FDC from Malaysia

Malaysia          Kedah          Pulau Pinang

Here is the second FDC of Postal History of Kedah that I sent to my address in Canada.

2013-03-25 Malaysia (9)

Again, this FDC is similar to Khor’s FDC (entry #683) except that my FDC was cancelled in Pulau Pinang, and I didn’t put the airmail sticker! For more information about this issue, please refer to the pamphlet in entry #681.

2013-03-25 Malaysia (3)

The only different with Khor’s FDC (entry #681) is that my FDC is cancelled in Pulau Pinang, plus I didn’t affixed the air mail sticker! Please refer to entry #681 for more information about this issue.

2012-12-01 Langkawi 2b

At the back, SL Liew affixed one Kids’ hobby stamp – stamp collecting. There are three special cancels: one for the kids’ hobby issue with postmark date 19 November 2012, another one for SetemKu issue with postmark date 5 November 2012, and the last one is from the postmen uniform issue with postmark date 22 October 2012. #543 Postcard from Penang, Malaysia

A very special postcard from Penang, Malaysia, sent by SL Liew.

The postcard shows a Rafflesia flower from Belum Rainforest in Perak, Malaysia.

At the back, Liew affixed one SetemKu stamp that depicts a Rafflesia and a Rajah Brooke butterfly. Special cancels from the SetemKu issue were applied where the cancel features the KLCC Twin Towers and a butterfly. This postcard is very special since the stamp matches the image of the postcard (the Rafflesia flower) and the cancel (the butterfly). The postmark date is 5 November 2012 and the location is Pulau Pinang. Thank you very much SL Liew!

#451 Postcard from Penang, Malaysia

Last but not least, the fourth Penang postcard from SL Liew.

This one shows the statue of Captain Francis Light who founded Penang as a British Settlement on 11 August 1786. This statue is located in the compund of Penang State Museum and Art Gallery in Georgetown, Penang.

On the back, Liew affixed one stamp that commemorates the visit by The Duke and Duchess of Cambrige to Malaysia on the occasion of the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II. Two special cancels of the issue were applied on the postcard, plus one special cancel from the Malaysian Festivals 2nd series issue. It seems to me that Liew really know how to match stamps and postcards, since the Diamond Jubilee cancels, the royal visit stamp and the Francis Light postcard all are related to Great Britain. Thank you very much SL Liew for all these nice postcards, stamps and cancels!
