#267 Postcard from China

A postcard from China, sent by postcrosser Zhang from Nanjing.

It shows a picture of a bicycle parked in front of a dental clinic.

#260 Postcard from Poland

Today I received a postcard from Poland, sent by postcrosser Dominika from the city of Łódź.

The postcard shows a the interior of Orthodox Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in Łódź.

The postmark date is 27 March 2012 and the location is Łódź. There is a heavy cancel on the second stamp below. According to postcrossing record, the sent date is 23 March 2012. It took more than 60 days to arrive in my mailbox! Thank you Dominika.

Today I received a cover from Australia, sent by Christine from Queensland for the Photo Round Robin in postcrossing forum.

A beautiful dolphin envelope. The postmark date is 8 May 2012 and the location is Northgate Mail Centre, Queensland. Inside are two photos of Christine family. Thank you very much Christine!

#247 Cover and Postcards from Sarawak, Malaysia

A cover from the state of Sarawak, Malaysia sent by Aileen in exchange for Titanic cover arranged by Nice Cover Circuit in postcrossing forum.

Aileen affixed one souvenir sheet issued to commemorate the installation of His Majesty the 14th Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah of Kedah. This is a second time His Majesty’s ascends the throne, the first time was in 1970 when he was elected as the 5th Yang di-Pertuan Agong. There are two stamps in the souvnir sheet: one contains an image of a 10 cent stamp issued in 1970 to commemorate the installation of the 5th YDPA and another stamp is issued in 2012 to commemorate the installation of the 14th YDPA. The postmark date is 4 May 2012 and the location is Tabuan Stutong, Sarawak.

Inside the cover Aileen sent two postcards:

This one shows various traditional Sawarak crafts made from wood.

This is a cover of “The Tale of Peter Rabbit” by Beatrix Potter.

Aileen also put 8 sticker sheets for Maryam!

A cover from Croatia, sent by my friend Ivana Perunski in exchange for Titanic cover arranged by Nice Cover Circuit in postcrossing forum.

Ivana affixed two cat stamps (a domestic cat and a Persian cat) and one heart-shaped Valentine stamp. All three stamps are issued in 2012. The postmark date is 30 April 2012 and the location is Donja Lomnica. Thank you Ivana!

A cover from Estonia, sent by Heidi as an exchange for Titanic cover arranged by Nice Cover Circuit in postcrossing forum.

Heidi affixed two sets of stamps: one set consists of two stamps, swallows stamp and butterflies stamp; while another set consists of three traditional costumes stamps. The postmark date is 4 May 2012 and the location is Tallinn-Toompea.

Inside, Heidi also sent a postcard that shows Tallinn, the capital of Estonia. Thank you Heidi for the cover and the postcard!

#244 Cover and Postcard from Thailand

Another cover from Thailand sent by my friend, Nina R. in exchange for Titanic cover arranged by Nice Cover Circuit in postcrossing forum.

This time Nina used an airmail cover. On the cover, Nina affixed four Portugal-Thailand joint issue stamps to commemorate 500 years of diplomatic relationship between the two countries. These stamps were issued on 20 July 2011. All four stamps are very beautiful. I really like stamps that show historical events. On the left side, Nina affixed three stamps to make up the postage rate. The postmark date is 30 April 2012, and the location is Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya – the historical capital of Thailand.

Inside is a postcard that shows Wat Chai Wattanaram Temple in Ayutthaya. Nina explained that Ayutthaya was the capital of Thailand around 1500s when Portugal visited it and established diplomatic relationship. Thanks a lot Nina for the gorgeous cover and nice postcard!

A cover from China, sent by Huangke for the Frankly Stamps Round Robin group in postcrossing forum. This one is for animals cover group.

On the cover, Huangke affixed four animal stamps: two birds couples stamps, one pheasant stamp and one ox stamp. Huangke used a Lunar Year of the Ox cover. The postmark date is 4 May 2012.
