#629 Christmas Island Cover, Stamps and Maximum Card from Australia

         

An awesome Christmas cover from Christmas Island, Australia sent by postcrosser Irene Magale for Nice Cover Circuit in postcrossing forum.

On the cover, Irene affixed two Christmas Island stamps. Unfortunately, both of them were damaged – the right stamp has a small tear near the upper left edge, while the right stamp bottom was torn. The postmark date is 7 December 2012 and the location is Victoria.

This is the back of the cover that contains information about the issue.

Inside is a beautiful Christmas maximum card with postmark date 1 November 2012 and location Merrylands in New South Wales.

Irene also sent me two mint Christmas Island Christmas stamps!!! Thank you very much Irene!

#186 Cover from Australia

I was on vacation last week, so I couldn’t update this blog. Let see what came into my mailbox last week. First is a cover from Australia, sent by Louise from Sydney.

On the cover, Louise affixed one koala stamp. No postmark. Inside the cover, Louise sent a kangaroo pin and a highlighter. Thank you Louise!

#24 Maximum Card from Australia

This is the second maxi-card received, and it is from Australia as well! (The first maximum card that I received was also from Australia).

The card shows a detailed picture of the roofs (or better know as ‘shells’) of the famous Sydney Opera House. It was issued on June 20th, 2000.
